• Participation is open to students and young innovators who register within the official submission period. Participants may join individually or as part of a team.
• Teams may consist of up to 4 members unless otherwise specified by the organizers. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is encouraged, including participants from technical, design, and social science backgrounds.
• All submitted projects must be original work developed specifically for this hackathon. Existing ideas may be used as inspiration, but submissions must demonstrate substantial new development during the event period.
• Projects must address an accessibility, inclusion, or disability-related challenge. Solutions should aim to improve real-life experiences in areas such as education, communication, mobility, independent living, participation, or assistive interaction.
• Accepted project formats include software applications, websites, AI systems, robotics concepts, hardware prototypes, design concepts, accessibility tools, or mixed-format solutions.
• Participants must submit their project through Devpost before the official deadline. Late submissions may not be reviewed.
• Each submission must include:
– project title
– short project summary
– clear explanation of the problem addressed
– description of the proposed solution
– images, mockups, or prototype visuals
– optional demo or presentation video
• Teams are encouraged to provide a short explanation of how their solution could realistically be implemented or further developed beyond the hackathon.
• Artificial intelligence tools, open-source libraries, APIs, and external frameworks may be used, provided that all major tools and dependencies are clearly disclosed in the submission.
• Participants may use publicly available datasets, but must properly reference their source when relevant.
• Any project containing copyrighted content, third-party assets, or reused code must respect licensing conditions and clearly acknowledge sources.
• Projects must not contain offensive, discriminatory, unsafe, or unethical content. Submissions promoting exclusion, harmful stereotypes, or misuse of technology will be disqualified.
• Teams must maintain respectful communication throughout the event. Inclusive collaboration and constructive conduct are expected from all participants.
• Organizers reserve the right to request clarification about submissions, project originality, or technical implementation when necessary.
• Judges may consider the following criteria:
– innovation and originality
– relevance to accessibility
– social impact
– feasibility
– clarity of presentation
– design quality
• Winning projects may be highlighted publicly by the organizing team through event reports, social media, presentations, or educational showcases, always with participant credit.
• By submitting a project, participants confirm that they have the right to present all included content and agree that organizers may feature their work for non-commercial educational promotion.
• Participation in the hackathon implies acceptance of all official rules and any additional clarifications communicated by the organizing team during the event.
• The organizing team reserves the right to update procedural details when necessary to ensure fairness, accessibility, and smooth event operation.
